Dr. NP van der Watt practices as an general orthopaedic surgeon at the George Mediclinic in the Western cape, South Africa. He is a sub- speciality fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in hip and knee joint replacements.
Dr. NP van der Watt is one of the few surgeons in South Africa trained to perform robotic-arm assisted total knee and hip replacement surgeries using the Mako robot (Stryker).
Dr. van der Watt performes total hip replacements via a minimally invasive direct anterior approach (DAA). which is an inter- nervous and muscle sparing approach. He is well versed in joint preservation and reconstruction options as well as sport and traumatic related injuries.
